Houdini是一款三維計算機圖形軟體，由加拿大SideEffectsSoftwareInc.（簡稱SESI）
公司開發，SESI公司由KimDavidson和GregHermanovic建立於1987年。Houdini是在
Prisms基礎上重新開發而來，可執行於Linux,Windows,MacOS等操作系統，是完全基於
節點模式設計的產物，其結構、操作方式等和其它的三維軟體有很大的差異。

Houdini自帶的渲染器是Mantra，基於Reyes渲染架構，因此也能夠快速的渲染運動模糊、
景深和置換效果。Mantra是經過產品驗證的成熟渲染器，可以滿足電影級別的渲染要求。
當然，Houdini也有第三方渲染器的介面，比如：RenderMan、Mentalray、Vray和Torque
等，可以把場景匯出到這些渲染引擎進行渲染。
